BAUHAUS4EU Summer Course 2023
In August 2023, 17 students from the BAUHAUS4EU European University Alliance attended the BAUHAUS4EU Summer Course on “Intercultural Collaboration and Leadership“. They experienced a week of intense international collaboration.
The aim of the course was to explore and practice collaborative teaching and learning in a multidisciplinary and multicultural setting, where students developed skills in communicating, collaborating and leading effectively across differences. Organised on a highly participatory and experiential basis, the course introduced students to concepts and theoretical practices to shift from a personal, individual-centred approach to a collective, group-centred one in order to move towards more sustainable and healthy solutions.
The BAUHAUS4EU Summer Course took place from 20 to 27 August 2023 in Weimar. It was organised by Bauhaus-Universität Weimar (Germany), Blekinge Institute of Technology (Sweden) and University of Economics in Katowice (Poland). Funded by Erasmus+ as a Blended-Intensive Programme.

“Participating in the BAUHAUS4EU summer course was transformative! Beyond acquiring valuable skills in systems thinking, intercultural collaboration and embodiment, the course allowed me to connect with a network of individuals I'm eager to stay in touch with. The way the facilitators managed the training, including moments for reflection and journaling, was remarkable. What stood out the most was the emphasis on group discussions, which allowed us to share diverse perspectives and learn how culture can shape our interactions. This course has broadened my horizons and deepened my understanding of different cultures, making me a more empathetic individual. Being at Bauhaus-Universität Weimar and in the charming city of Weimar added an extra layer of magic to the experience.”

“Participating in the immersive BAUHAUS4EU summer school profoundly enriched my personal growth by fostering greater self-assurance and enhancing my social skills. My most cherished aspect of this experience was the opportunity to embrace fresh ways of learning and explore new perspectives for comprehending the world around us. This amazing journey will not only help other students create strong bonds but also cultivate robust communication skills and a deeper understanding of what it means to be a responsible and sensibilized EU citizen.”

“I wanted to take part in the Bauhaus4EU because I wanted to contribute to the development of a European University Alliance. I made new friendships there. I really liked the diversity of backgrounds among the participants and the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities but what I value most are the newly made acquaintances. I encourage everyone to take this course.”
